Chris Griner, chair of Stroock’s National Security/CFIUS/Compliance Practice Group, was interviewed by ComDef Network to share his insight and perspective on the development and strengthening of CFIUS regulation of issues impacting foreign investment in the U.S. Regarded as a leader in the field, Griner provided background on both the expansion of the jurisdiction of the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS),  the recent Foreign Investment Risk Review Modernization Act (FIRRMA), and the implications for transactions under the new administration. He commented on the potential impact to critical technologies, telecom, real estate, and other deals, as well as discussed personal identifier information (PII) concerns companies must consider in accepting foreign investment or contemplating mergers and acquisitions.
